Russian Railways is Russia’s largest employer, and the Russian Railways Corporate University is the best in the world: in 2021 it won gold in the international “Best Overall Corporate University” competition held by the Global Council of Corporate Universities (GlobalCCU).

More than 100,000 managers study at the Russian Railways Corporate University every year.

Challenge

To guide and support learners in its programs, the Russian Railways Corporate University needed a digital platform that met the following requirements:

  • Mobility. Program information, latest news, learning materials and the schedule should always be at hand.
  • Storage of learning and supplementary materials, talks and presentations. Participants need simple, fast access to all materials so they can refer to them at any time and apply new knowledge to their daily work sooner.
  • Networking tools. One of the benefits of corporate training is the chance to meet people, build connections and learn from colleagues you don’t work with directly. The program’s digital platform should help build these connections.
  • Notifications. One of the platform’s jobs is to instantly inform participants of any schedule changes and remind them of project deadlines.
  • Content by learner group. Splitting learners into groups is common in training. The platform should support the features groups need to communicate and work together.
  • Simple navigation
  • Training quality assessment

Russian Railways Corporate University

To train our learners, we need a platform that runs reliably, has a clear design and stores the necessary content securely. How effectively an educational program is delivered depends on what the platform can do.

Solution

To support in-person and blended learning programs, the Russian Railways team uses the Talent Rocks platform, which has become a single point of entry for learners.

Talent Rocks brings together learning and supplementary materials and speaker content. It is the primary source of information and the main channel for communicating with instructors and training organizers.

The platform has been used for both small programs and large educational projects. The latter include, for example, “HR League,” a program for managers completed by more than 600 people in 2021, and the “New Link” youth competition.

The platform supports learning events for young professionals, programs introducing students to Russian Railways, talent pool training, a corporate MBA and dozens of other programs.

Russian Railways Corporate University

What sets Talent Rocks apart is its wide range of tools for learning events. This lets us avoid connecting and maintaining separate services for narrow tasks.

A single platform makes training more effective because everything you need is in one place. Talent Rocks covers most of our needs.

Summary

The Russian Railways Corporate University got a versatile solution that easily adapts to different tasks and numbers of learners. Content is prepared for each program, then packaged and uploaded to a custom-branded app.

The Corporate University plans to expand the partnership and use all of the platform’s capabilities when developing new educational programs.
