First touchpoint

Your future employee installs the company’s branded corporate app on their smartphone and starts getting to know their new workplace.

The Talent Rocks platform supports login/password authentication, so employees can start using the app even before they get a corporate email.

1 week before day one

The plan is clear

The app already gives the employee reference sections with company information, answers to frequently asked questions and an onboarding plan.

When it’s clear in advance what the first day will look like, what needs to be done in the first week and how training works, fear and anxiety fade away. All that’s left is looking forward to meeting the new team and tasks.

Getting to know each other

And here’s the first task of the onboarding track in the app — tell us about yourself.

Let the employee share their hobbies, post photos or record a video intro. This helps introduce them to future colleagues in advance. This approach is especially relevant for distributed teams, since colleagues won’t be able to meet in person for a while.

1 day before day one

Preparing the welcome

Your new employee is almost here! In the onboarding app, they receive push notifications from an HR specialist or their buddy with a warm welcome and detailed information on how to get to the office and which documents to bring.

Setting up scheduled automatic notifications guarantees that the new employee gets the message even if HR is having a very busy day.

With a single point of entry and the whole process running on one platform, we can track every stage of onboarding, spot risk areas early on and take action.

Day 1 at the new job

An exciting day

You never get a second chance to make a first impression. So let the first encounter with the new job leave only pleasant feelings.

The employee unlocks the first step of the onboarding track and the first-day tasks: get access, sign documents, meet colleagues.

And at the end of the day — a quick survey while it’s fresh: “How did you like your first day at work?”

All systems go

A new employee has so much to learn and so many colleagues to meet! It helps to have a personal guide at the new company — a buddy or mentor.

Thanks to flexible access settings, the Talent Rocks platform supports separate features for mentors — materials, tips, report and evaluation submission. Mentors can track progress on the onboarding track. There’s also a private mentors’ chat for sharing experience.

Practice and play

The new employee learns on the job and immediately puts skills into practice. Mobile learning saves time, and game mechanics turn it into an engaging game.

The employee takes courses, completes assignments, joins fun quizzes on products and customers, and earns points. The points earned can, for example, become an internal currency for buying merch and gifts.

We’ve received a lot of positive feedback about the platform. Call center and front desk staff can access knowledge bases at any time. Mentors no longer have to deal with paper reports. Overall, our new hire onboarding processes have become more transparent and clear.

Career prospects

The end of the first month is a tough time. Initial training is over, but there’s not yet enough experience in the new role for tasks to feel easy. Understanding career prospects and opportunities helps cope with the stress.

Share employee success stories in the app. For example, video testimonials in which experienced employees talk about their journey at the company. Offer to book time for an initial consultation with a career coach or HR.

Closing the skills gap

After two months, the employee and their manager may notice a lack of certain skills. That’s a reason to add training courses to the onboarding program.

On the Talent Rocks platform, you can quickly build your own training programs in a convenient editor or upload ready-made courses in SCORM format. SCORM course completion is reflected in overall statistics, and test scores count toward gamification.

Final assessment

It’s time to decide whether the new employee has passed probation. They may need to take a product knowledge exam or a certification for this.

Flexible tests and surveys on the Talent Rocks platform make assessment transparent and convenient to complete.

And don’t forget to collect feedback from new hires on the onboarding process and find out what you could do even better.

This shows employees that you’re a company that values their contribution.

Analyzing and drawing conclusions

The new employee has completed onboarding and become a full member of the team. Time to analyze how onboarding went and draw conclusions.

Prepare and analyze polished reports on the effectiveness of your onboarding system with dashboards and exportable statistics. Make data-driven decisions.

And this is just the beginning…

After the onboarding track is complete, the corporate app stays with the employee as a pocket guide to business processes and contacts, a source of up-to-date news and a hub for internal communications.

And if they need to refresh product knowledge or brush up on skills, they can simply enroll in a course.
